Renovated concrete pool interior in Caboolture with new Pebblecrete and coping

Pool Renovations in Caboolture, Done by the Family Who Build Them

Planned, priced and carried out by our own team from the Harrow Court yard

Caboolture is home ground for Boomerang Pools — the business has been renovating Caboolture pools from its own Harrow Court yard for more than thirty years. New interiors, new coping and fresh waterline tiling are planned, priced and carried out by the same in-house team, with no work handed off to sub-contractors.

A tired Caboolture pool doesn't need replacing — it needs renovating. Most of the pools Boomerang is called out to in Caboolture are structurally sound. What's gone is the surface: a chalky, stained Pebblecrete interior, coping that's lifted or cracked, waterline tiles that have popped off one by one.

Local knowledge

Why it matters here

Caboolture is the largest and most central suburb Boomerang services, with around 29,500 residents and a median age of 36. It sits on the northern side of the Caboolture River, is the terminus of the Brisbane commuter rail line, and functions as a regional transport hub connecting north to the Sunshine Coast and inland via the D'Aguilar Highway — a settled, established urban centre with decades of housing stock, much of it carrying pools of a similar age to the ones Boomerang has been renovating for over thirty years.

Renovation puts right what's actually worn — interior, coping, waterline tiles — for a fraction of what a new pool costs. Because Boomerang builds concrete pools as well as renovating them, it can say honestly which of the two a Caboolture pool actually needs, and will say so if a full rebuild is the better spend rather than defaulting to a resurface quote.

Common local challenges

The challenge

A structurally sound pool wrongly assumed to need replacing

A chalky, stained Pebblecrete interior and cracked or lifted coping can look terminal even though the concrete shell underneath is usually still sound.

Owners can end up pricing a full rebuild for a problem that's only skin deep, at far greater cost and disruption than needed.

Because Boomerang builds concrete pools as well as renovating them, the team can read a Caboolture shell properly and give a straight, honest verdict on renovate versus rebuild.

The challenge

Established housing stock with pools reaching the same age

Caboolture's decades of settled housing mean a large number of pools installed around the same era are wearing through their surface, coping and waterline tiles together.

Owners often can't tell whether rough or chalky underfoot texture, or staining that won't shift with an acid wash, means the pool is past cleaning and needs a new interior.

Boomerang tells owners honestly which side of that line their pool sits on, based on thirty-plus years of assessing Caboolture pools of exactly this age.

The challenge

Renovation stalling on trade availability

Jobs split across separate trades for coping, tiling and the interior can stall if one trade is delayed.

A stalled renovation leaves a drained pool out of action longer than it needs to be.

Working from the Harrow Court yard in Caboolture itself, Boomerang's own crew handles every stage without waiting on someone else's trade or travel time.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a pool renovation take?

It depends on scope. A coping replacement is a short job; a full interior with new coping and tiling runs longer once you allow for strip-out, repairs, curing and refilling. Boomerang gives a realistic sequence at quote stage — and because it's based in Caboolture, it's not travelling far to keep the job moving.

Do I need a new interior or just a clean?

If the surface is rough underfoot, chalky to the touch, or stained in a way that acid washing won't shift, it's usually past cleaning. Boomerang will tell you honestly which side of that line your pool sits on.

Can you replace coping without redoing the interior?

Yes. Coping and surrounds can be replaced on their own, and it's one of the most cost-effective changes you can make. If the interior is close to end of life, though, it's usually cheaper to do both while the pool is already drained.

Can you add steps or a handrail to an existing pool?

Yes. Extra entry steps can be built in during a renovation, and stainless steel handrails can be retro-fitted — both popular with Caboolture families who want easier access for kids or older swimmers.

What if my pool is beyond renovating?

Then Boomerang will say so. It builds in-ground concrete pools as well as renovating them, so it can demolish and rebuild on the same site if that's genuinely the better outcome.

Which areas do you renovate in?

Caboolture, Morayfield, Burpengary, Bellmere, Elimbah, Wamuran and the wider Moreton Bay region.
